Roundup: The Best of LEGO Ideas – July 6, 2016

Here is a roundup featuring some of the best new and expiring-soon LEGO Ideas projects as of July 6, 2016.

LEGO Ideas is a way for LEGO fans to submit LEGO set ideas and concepts for possible mass production and sale. If 10,000 people support a project with a specified time-frame, the LEGO Review Board will consider the set for mass production and sale; the project’s designers receive a royalty if the set is produced and sold.

New: Non-Licensed

American School Bus by chenhongmai
A well-executed LEGO model of a typical flat-front American yellow school bus. It not only looks, but has a very playable interior.

Trademan’s Truck by LoneCoyote
This simple white utility truck with ladder manages to take 149 pieces and assemble something we can all recognize (and play with). It would go great with the City series.

Create Your Own Studio by KellindilDH
An understated but interesting execution of a photography studio with modular rooms. This set strikes a good balance between realism and playability.

Mini Ball Look 08 by JoshDavidman
A fun way to move two balls around either by hand or with a LEGO Power Functions Motor.

News Bureau by TylerBricks
The outside is a bit austere, but there’s some nice interior touches, both with the newsroom and conference room, inside this modular newspaper headquarters building.

New: Licensed

M&M’s Chocolate Candy Dispenser by EDxAS
Nothing terribly complicated about this set, but definitely a fun way to dispense M&Ms.

In-N-Out Burger Restaurant by Furmania
A faithfully reproduced LEGO set of the iconic West Coast In-N-Out Burger chain restaurant (but no drive-thru) with great interior details.

MasterChef by kevinszeto
Based on the TV show, this set features some nice detailed groceries and competition kitchen.

Expiring Soon: Non-Licensed

Hearthstone Bakery by Klikstyle
While this set may never receive a green light for production given the high piece count involved, it’s hard to imagine a modular bakery that could ever be much better than this set. It has amazing details. The set needs a couple hundred more supporters to hit the 5,000 mark in the next few days to receive additional time to gather a total of 10,000 supporters.

Police Headquarters – Modular Building by Wodanis
If you wish you didn’t have to settle for a City series police station, this modular police headquarters building is for you. The set needs about two thousand more supporters to hit the 5,000 mark in the next few days to receive additional time to gather a total of 10,000 supporters.

Expiring Soon: Licensed

Waffle House by WNL05
This place is for all of your LEGO minifigures who can’t afford to dine in the modular Parisian Restaurant. The set needs about 500 more supporters to hit the 1,000 mark in the next few days to receive additional time.

The Imperial Probe Droid aka Probot by dark grey matters
An excellent UCS-quality replica of the Imperial Probe Droid from the Star Wars universe, notably Episode IV. The set needs a couple thousand more supporters to hit the 5,000 mark in the next few days to receive additional time to gather a total of 10,000 supporters.
